Research notes and drafts of this Natchez born and Louisville resident author which pertain chiefly to the discovery of America, and colonial history. Titles include: Fame and other poems, The progress of freedom and other poems, The Indian, Antiquities of America, and The history of Hernando de Soto and Florida, 1881. There is also a fourth of July oration given in 1846 & published in 1850, his European diary, 1857-58, and newsclippings.
